Toys For Tots 2020

Even with an incredible amount of support each year, the Toys for Tots Foundation finds that the demand for children’s toys during the holiday season far outweighs the supply. Twenty-twenty promises to bring historic levels of demand, as millions more Americans are unemployed, working less hours or were forced to close their business in the wake of the pandemic that has rocked the American economy.

It is the Foundation’s mission to ensure that every child can have a proper holiday celebration, as gifts under the tree on Christmas morning are a miracle of childhood that should not be predicated on economic status. 

We have been strong supporters of Toys for Tots in the past and are excited to again be a part of making the holiday season special for economically challenged families in our local community. Over the next few weeks, we will be accepting donations for Toys for Tots and are proud to have an authorized donation box in the lobby of our office. We encourage anyone who would like to contribute to the cause to drop off a new, unwrapped toy anytime before Friday, December 4th. 

We understand that 2020 is a unique year, and we don’t want the distancing requirements for COVID-19 to impact your decision to donate. To make the experience as seamless as possible, we are offering several options for your convenience:

• In-person drop-off: Come in and say hi! Drop the toys in the box in our lobby.
• Contactless drop-off: Please contact our office and we’ll arrange a mutually convenient time for you to stop by. We will be happy to come get the toys out of your car in the parking lot so you can remain in your vehicle.
• Direct shipping: If you live out of state or would prefer to save the drive to North Haven, you may also ship toys directly to our office at the address below. If you choose to include a gift receipt, we will be happy to acknowledge receipt of your package(s) and thank you for your generosity. Should you choose to remain anonymous, that is ok, too!
• Donation by check: Please make all donation checks payable to Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. You are welcome to mail or drop off any donation checks. 

We are fortunate to work within a network of generous families who often find themselves with too much, rather than too little, and who continually look for creative ways to give back. In the spirit of ‘the more the merrier,’ we ask that if you have family or friends who are also inclined to help the less fortunate this holiday season, that you pass along our message to them as well. 

I would be remiss not to mention the efforts by Joan and Rick Santos, who have been coordinating our Toys for Tots donations and who have graciously allowed us to participate in their annual toy drive . It is because of their hard work that we have collectively raised thousands of toys for economically disadvantaged children over the past several years.
