Thomas Morrone CFP®, CPA

Principal

I grew up in a family business and at an early age I learned the importance of hard work, providing an elevated level of service and the value of relationships. After college and about 15 years of working for big companies, I had the entrepreneurial desire to utilize my knowledge and experience in financial matters to help people figure out the story behind their numbers.

Today, I am a Partner of U. S. Wealth Management and the Principal of the firm’s North Haven, CT office. My son Paul leads the financial planning efforts in North Haven supported by my 40 years of business experience and further supported by the balance of the U. S. Wealth Management team. Clients appreciate the deep understanding that we develop regarding all facets of their financial lives. This enables us to coordinate all of the professionals needed to support their needs. Consolidating fractured advice that clients may receive from multiple sources minimizes the possibility of something significant falling through the cracks.

When not working with clients, I enjoy spending time with my best friend and wife Cathy enjoying a glass of fine wine. We love spending time with our son Paul and daughter Kelly along with their wonderful spouses Jill and David. Being the head landscaper at Villa Morrone brings me relaxation and I enjoy kayaking around the Branford shoreline. I can also be found around the grounds of New Haven Country Club, chasing around little white balls with my son Paul and hopefully someday my grandsons.

Paul Morrone CFP®, CPA/PFS, MSA

Wealth Manager

As the second-generation owner of US Wealth Management New Haven, I’m honored to have to opportunity to continue the business that my father, Tom, founded in the mid-1990s. Under his mentorship, I’ve learned the invaluable lessons of how to earn trust, work collaboratively and remain disciplined over time in pursuit of positive outcomes. I’m passionate about the work that we do here, and it is incredibly satisfying to witness the lasting impact it has on our clients, their families and loved ones.

Early in my career, however, there was no guarantee that I was going to follow in my father’s footsteps. After graduating from Bentley University in 2009, I spent my first professional days working at KPMG, one of the ‘big four’ public accounting firms. It was there that I earned my CPA license and developed a respect for complexity of financial reporting and the scale required to run some of the world’s largest businesses. I’m fortunate to have such broad experience, which I believe is key to connecting with the network of other professionals that are often part of a comprehensive advisory team. Ultimately, I made the difficult choice to leave my rapidly advancing career in accounting for what was largely an unknown path in the wealth management industry. That was in 2011, and I haven’t looked back.

I have been able to draw on the decades of wisdom provided by my mentors over the years, many of whom have supported me since day one. As a result, I strongly believe in giving back to the financial planning community that has been so influential in my professional development. The past several years, I’ve held various leadership roles within the Financial Planning Association of CT where we strive to shape the future of the profession and encourage practitioners to hold themselves to the highest standards.

Outside of the office, my wife, Jill, has the impossible task of trying to slow me down. She has been nurse at Yale New Haven Hospital for over a decade and is one of the hardest working and most passionate people I know. In addition to being an amazing nurse, she is also the mother of our two boys – Kyle (2018) and Ryan (2020) – who bring a smile to my face every day. We are blessed with an amazing network of family and friends that dominate most of our social calendar, a problem I am happy to have. Since we met, Jill and I have been avid travelers and are fortunate enough to have visited some of the most exciting and exotic places on earth. Picking a favorite is tough, although both of us have a special place in our heart for all the beauty, food and wine that Italy has to offer.

In my spare time, I can be found driving just about anything with a motor on the road or track. I’m also engaged in the perpetual battle against my handicap on the golf course, which is one of the most humbling, exciting, and frustrating experiences one can have. On those rainy or snowy weekends, I enjoy catching up on some of my favorite sports, including golf, Formula 1, UCONN Huskies Basketball and, of course, New York Giants football.

Robert Napolitano

Director of Investment Strategy

I have always been partial to the wealth management industry. My father, John, is a financial planner and has served as a mentor for myself and many of the US Wealth Management advisors over the years. I didn’t jump right into the profession, however. After completing my undergraduate education at Bentley University, I worked for Federal Management, where I first developed an interest in investments while overseeing large commercial and residential real estate projects.

Shortly thereafter, I joined the investment team at US Wealth Management and began to learn the inner workings of portfolio management and the robust process that is necessary to create an effective investment plan. I worked closely with our network of advisors to design client-focused solutions as the country rebounded from the 2008-2009 financial crisis. It was during this time that I learned the importance of discipline in investing and how critical it is to seamlessly integrate both financial planning and investment management to provide the highest level of holistic advice.

Over a decade later, my focus has become more strategic in nature and I enjoy the challenge of assessing risk and identifying opportunities in a rapidly changing environment. This entails ongoing research, diligence, and creativity to ensure the investments and portfolio allocations are designed to complement your long-term financial plans. I also enjoy the collaborative nature of the planning process and working directly with the advisory team to develop tailored strategies to manage your financial future.

On a personal note, my wife, Jenna, and I have two wonderful kids who garnish all our attention.  Ellie (2018) and Jack (2020) are quickly growing up, which means life is undeniably busy and full of adventure. We look forward to summer days on our boat, swimming at the beach, riding bicycles and trips to the farm for locally made ice cream. Jenna and I also hope to pass down our love of skiing to our children once they are old enough to hit the slopes.

When I’m not chasing around my children, I am passionate about working and building performance cars. Designing and troubleshooting high horsepower engines is a hobby that is both incredibly challenging and rewarding. I look forward to joining Paul at the racetrack and beating my previous personal best times on the dragstrip at New England Dragway when cooler fall air arrives in late September and October.
